It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Wanda Jean (Fitzgerald, Riley) Singer of Greenfield, Hants County on April 28, 2024, after a brief courageous battle with cancer.
Wanda worked at a bank for a few years before devotedly raising her children whom she so deeply loved. After raising her children, she worked as a childcare worker at several daycares before joining the Halifax Regional Centre for Education as an educational program assistant where she enjoyed working with the children and found many new friends.
Survived by her husband, Stephen Singer, son, Cory (Kelley) Riley, daughter, Allison (Dustin) Lantz, granddaughters Vanessa and Melissa Lantz, step-daughter Nicole (John) MacDonald, step-son Jamie (Krista) Singer, step-grandaughters Allie and Ava MacDonald, siblings Donna (Bob) Clouston, Stephen (Shelly) Fitzgerald, Nancy Fitzgerald, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Ira Fitzgerald and Eileen (Smith, Fitzgerald) Baker, grandparents Roy Fitzgerald and Evelyn Layton, and Russell and Jean Smith.
Wanda had a great love of family and was an endearing friend to many. She will always be remembered for her abundance of generosity and kindheartedness and will be greatly missed. Special thanks to Dr. Linda Hernandez-Lopez and her team and palliative care nurse Dawn Ross.
Graveside service on May 26th at 1 pm immediately followed by a Remembrance Gathering at the Gore Fire Hall. Donations can be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
