It is with great sadness that the family of Tony Aquilina announces his sudden but peaceful passing at Hamilton General Hospital on January 15, 2022, at the age of 68. Cherished brother of June Rankel (Herb), Dianne Burnison (Jim) and Joseph (Kathryn) and reunited with brother Michael (Cindy) and his loving parents Michael and Mary. Tony leaves behind his nephew Andrew (Roe) and nieces Cassandra (Trevor), Lauren (Dave), Nicole (Kyle), and Danielle (Dean), great nephews and nieces Luca, Maxwell, Evelyn, and Emma, cousins Jan and Rita of Hamilton, and numerous relatives in Malta and Australia. Also left to mourn are Tony’s dear friends, Trish and Paulo, and many other friends who are too numerous to mention by name. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. We plan to have a Celebration of Life when the weather is warmer and COVID restrictions are eased. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to perform a random act of kindness in Tony’s memory, just as he did throughout his lifetime. This could be a donation to a food bank or community fridge, reaching out to someone in need, or any kind gesture that comes to mind. Despite his quadriplegia, Tony had a zest for life. He lived his life with quiet courage, dignity, generosity, positivity, and a streak of stubbornness! He was an amazing example of strength and love to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. Tony will be deeply missed.
