Biography

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Elaine Pottie(Lade) of Cole Harbour on January 5, 2024 after a short illness. A celebration of life will be held on January 10, 2024 from 7 to 9 at Atlantic Funeral home on Main Street, Dartmouth NS.

Sue is survived by her husband and best friend Don Pottie, daughter Courtney Linders(Jeremy) Dartmouth, Kyle Pottie Halifax, brother Stephen (Pat) Glenhaven, sisters Cathy Trembley( Bernie) Rockland Ont., Phyllis Murray(Leonard)Halifax, Jenny Boyd(Tony) Dartmouth, Joanne Sangster (Mike) Lower Sackville, brother in law Paul Pottie( Linda) and sister in law Ann Slaunwhite (Albert)Halifax. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Sue was predeceased by her parents Hazel Lieneau(Lade, Fenton) and Gordon Lade.

Sue was a former employee of Bell Aliant. Sue loved making greeting cards, working and creating her own Public Garden like garden and redecorating her homes. She always said her favourite smell was paint. She was a former squash player, active golfer (hole in one achiever) and avid card player. We will miss her attendance on the weekly Saturday night card game with her siblings and brother in law as well as her monthly poker game with her girlfriends. She was an avid traveller just returning from a Mediterranean cruise in November. Though she traveled the world her ultimate adventure was her trip to Sable Island with friends Marion and Peggy to see the ponies. She always said that when she died she was going to float over Sable Island and ride the ponies. I’m sure she is there now.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Parker Street Food Bank or a charity of your choice. Burial will take place at a future date.
