It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ruth Elizabeth McKim. Ruth was born on December 3, 1937 at the Tuxford Hospital, SK, the youngest of seven children born to George Philip Straub and Katherine (Maurer) Straub. Ruth passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 85 on January 23, 2023 at the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, SK. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Diane (Brian), Todd (Ev), Tracy (Gord), Suzanne and Sean (Erin), her grandchildren Tara (Jonah), Jonathan, Robbie, Courtney, Steve (Tara), Travis, Ryan (Kimberley), Brynn, Keegan (Kyra) and Carter, her great grandchildren Damien, Kacey, Aly, Kennedy, Jolie, Charlotte, Liam and Noah, many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was kind and generous and made everyone feel welcome. She maintained her hopeful and optimistic outlook on life through a challenging year. Mom was an avid reader, consumer of news, lover of movies and will be greatly missed. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, George and Katherine Straub, and her siblings Clarence (Bernice) Straub, Helen (Kenneth) Ganshorn, Arthur (Eleanor) Straub, Gordon (Evelyn) Straub, George Straub and Gerald Straub. Ruth is survived by her sister-in-law Evelyn Straub, widow of Gordon Straub.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and care staff of Wards 4A and 3A of the Pasqua Hospital for the care and compassion provided to Mom and their embrace of Mom's Transcribe App to communicate in a manner that respected Mom's desire to be engaged in her care.
