Biography

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Chrysler on December 1, 2023, after a courageous 3-month battle with cancer.
To know Ruth was to love her. She approached life with authenticity, choosing to live life according to her own principles and dancing to the beat of her unique rhythm. Her independence and bravery in staying true to herself served as a beacon, guiding others along a path of self-discovery. Ruth had a multitude of passions, doing anything outdoors, Reading, Sharing coupons, Creating memories with her grandchildren, Theatre, Her vegetable garden, Gardening, and the boundless hours spent with the birds.
Ruth shared over 48 years of marriage with the love of her life and constant companion, Murray. Together, they forged a love that stood the test of time and created a family with two beautiful children: Ellen & Gordon (Melissa).
As "Grandma O" to Avery & Easton showered her grandchildren with boundless affection revealing her tender and caring side.
Ruth's legacy is one of resilience, love, and the unwavering commitment she had for her family. She faced life's challenges with grace and a tenacity that inspired all who knew her. Her memory will forever be engraved in the minds and hearts of those who were touched by her kindness, compassion, and zest for life.


In celebrating Ruth’s life, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives and honor her by embracing the love and strength she exemplified. May she rest in peace, and her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were blessed to call her family and friend.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in a celebration of Ruth's life at 5 pm to 9 pm on Friday April 12th/24, at The Army Navy & Airforce Legion, 765 Third Street Mississauga, ON L5E 1B8.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ruth’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society
