It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald L. Charron, a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, and uncle who peacefully departed this world after a very brief illness at the age of 80 on January 17, 2024.
Ron was born on April 30 to Lucien and Irene. He was the oldest of five siblings and grew up in Sudbury, where he attended Sudbury Tech High School. Ron went on to get his mechanics license, where he worked as an auto mechanic for almost 30 years at Crosstown.
Ron’s zest for life extended to his hobbies, which included golf and bowling in his earlier days. He was a lifelong Blue Jays fan and enjoyed many memorable games with friends and family.
Ron was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene, whom he married on June 12, 1971. Together, they shared 52 years of unconditional love and support. Ron was a proud father to Jeff and Jenn (Chris) and a loving grandfather to Brandon, Kyla (Aaron), Dylan, and Katie. He was a big brother to Claudette, predeceased (Conrad), Rachelle, Denis (Linda), and Michel (Lise). Ron had many nieces and nephews. He cherished every moment spent with his family and created countless memories.
Ron will be remembered for his witty sarcasm, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, who will carry forward his values and traditions.
As per Ron’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of his life will be scheduled later in the year.
