With his loved ones by his side, Robert (Bob) C. Williamson passed to the other side after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday November 17, 2023 at Juravinski Hospital.
Bob’s memory will live on in his longtime love Brenda, his daughters Erynn (Marco) and Alexis (Jason), his beloved grandchildren Benjamin, Hunter and June, his devoted sister Kim, his best friend Brad (the Felix to his Oscar), and many more family and friends. On the other side, Bob joins his mother, Lucy, and father, Robert.
Bob grew up in Hamilton, Ontario and was passionate about hockey from a young age, eventually playing at the Junior A level with hopes of playing professionally before an injury led to him retiring early from the sport he loved so much.
Dad was a passionate lifelong music fan, with some of his favourites including the Tragically Hip, David Bowie, Steely Dan, the Eagles, and Elton John, whom he saw in concert upwards of twenty times. He instilled this same love for music in his daughters, and they will forever feel connected to him through music.
Dad loved to travel, making treks to Hawaii, Pompeii, Paris, Mexico and more over the years. He always looked forward to annual warm weather vacations with his friends and loved ones. He loved horror movies and classic comedy, like Monty Python, George Carlin, and the Three Stooges. He never lost his sense of humour, even on the darkest days. His dry yet extremely witty sensibility will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Bob’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his oncology team and the entire staff of the Juravinski Cancer Center for their loving and compassionate care, especially the nursing team of unit C3.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks with details to come.
In memory of Dad, we ask that you consider donating to the Canadian Spondylo Arthritis Association.
Or, just have a beer and listen to some Elton John.
We love you, Dad. We’ll miss you forever.
