Biography

Robert Allan Baturin (Bob) was born on October 23, 1940, in Canora, Saskatchewan. He moved with his family as a young boy to Winnipeg. After graduation from high school, he attended the University of Manitoba, earning his engineering degree followed by his MBA degree from Simon Fraser University. During his working career in Civil Engineering, he and his family had many moves from Ontario to B.C., eventually having his own company Deltaic Testing and Engineering in Vancouver and Chilliwack.
Bob was a member of the Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir for many years as well as the Tsawwassen United Church choir. After retirement he and Carole moved to Kelowna to be near their family. While there, Bob sang with the Okanagan Symphony Chorus and Gospel Praise. He loved his golf games, skiing adventures and his singing. Travelling was always a highlight with many trips to Europe and elsewhere. Above all, he loved his family of whom he was very proud.

Bob is survived by his wife Carole (Dunn) having celebrated their 62nd anniversary in September, their children Jeff, Karen (John), Greg (Anita), his grandchildren Sara (Jordan), Amy (Mathias), Devan (Tess), Ryan (Tamika) and Matt (Bailey) and his adoring great grandsons Rowan and Arlo. He is also survived by his brother Jack and family in Winnipeg and his brother-in-law Bill Dunn and family in Burnaby as well as many cousins and friends.

As per Bob's wishes, he has been cremated with a family celebration of life to be held in November. Our thanks and appreciation to the wonderful 6 West team and Doctor Penner at Kelowna General. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna Hospital Foundation (https://www.kghfoundation.com), Parkinsons Society of B.C. (https://www.parkinson.bc.ca/donate) or a charity of your choice.

Love you forever
