Peggy (Margaret) Klein

Biography

It is with profound grief that we announce the passing of Peggy (Margaret) Klein, beloved daughter, sister, auntie and friend. She left this world heaven-bound on April 22. She was predeceased by her parents George and Josephine Klein. She is survived by siblings Diana Reeves (Joe), Dennis Klein (Bev), Marilyn Hari (Harj), Gerard Klein (Sherri), sister-in-law Lori Klein; nieces and nephews Greg and Tani Klein (Mila, Oscar, Olive), Josh Hari, Bretton Hari and Kirk McArthur, Amanda and Alex Coldham, Cameron Klein and Sabina, Aunts Julia Hellman and Sylvia Hellman, and numerous cousins and dear friends.

Peg was born on August 17, 1949 in Leader, Sask. She was the 3rd of 5 children and grew up on the family farms near Linacre and Liebenthal. She attended her first country school at Linacre with Diana and Dennis transported in a buggy pulled by Tony the white horse. She was the middle child and credited with being a most thoughtful and sensible girl. She worked hard on the farm and excelled in high school at St Angela's Academy in Prelate. Her lengthy career as an Xray Tech in Calgary at Rocky View Hospital and later at EFW Clinic was a great source of enjoyment for her. She had a passion for travel in her younger years which took her to Europe, Thailand, Egypt, Cypress and Africa, Maritimes and the West Coast.

Peggy was the definition of kindness and compassion with a dry sense of humor that often caught us off-guard and had us clutching our bellies laughing. She was loved and respected by all who knew her for her intelligence, wit and integrity. She was a gifted stained glass artist, loved her pets, reading, outings with friends, and hosted many family dinners with flare. She was a favourite auntie among her nieces and nephews. Her gifts and cards are legendary.

Our sweet Peg will be forever missed. May her soul rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing to all.
At Peg's request there will be no funeral. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family is very grateful to Calgary Home Care, Oncology, Palliative Team, the incredible staff and volunteers at Foothills Country Hospice in Okotoks, and all who reached out to us with love and prayers.

In Peggy's memory, donations may be made to Foothills Country Hospice Society.
