Biography

MARGARET (Mary) CHURYLO
January 23, 1940 - June 1, 2023

After a long, healthy life, Margaret passed away at the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, SK on Thursday June 1, 2023, at the age of 83 with her family by her side.

Margaret was born in Rose Valley, SK to parents Fred and Jean Kryzanowski (Deceased).

She married Andrew on January 30, 1957, however, she lost her husband of 49 years in May of 2005. When Andrew died so did a part of Margaret but despite the loneliness and loss, she managed to live on her own until July of 2022. She was placed at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Regina, SK until March of this year in where she then transferred to her new home at the Cupar Senior Assisted Care Facility.

Unfortunately and sadly, Margaret lost her daughter, Laverne Guilbault on October 29th, 2012. This was devastating to Margaret as it would be with any mother losing their child.

In Margaret’s younger years she was known to be an active curler, a fabulous painter and a hairdresser to all in the town of Fosston, SK.

Margaret is survived by her son Brent (Donna); brother Gerald Kryzanowski (High Prairie, AB); special niece Karen Kanak (Saskatoon, SK); and grandchildren Kris Guilbault (Cara), Kyla Guilbault (Dale), Shaelynn Churylo and Chad Churylo (Terrina). Margaret is also survived by her 6 great grandchildren Kade, Trea, Hayes, Kian, Kaylen and Shayla; as well as nieces, nephews and family members throughout Canada.

Sadly, Margaret was predeceased by her husband Andrew, daughter Laverne, brothers Johnny and Victor and sister Sophie Malakoff who Margaret considered to be her best friend.

Respecting Margaret’s wishes, there will be no funeral services held. She will be placed with her husband and daughter at a later date in Wadena, SK.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and sincere thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at the Pasqua Hospital and the Cupar Senior Center for their care and compassion provided towards Margaret and the family.

She lived, loved, laughed and left…
