Lynne Claire

Lynne Claire Patterson

Aug 17th 1949 — Apr 7th 2024 (74 years)

Biography

Lynne was born on Jersey in the Channel Islands, Great Britain. She grew up in Nottingham, England with her wonderful mother, Claire, and went to the University of Kent.

Lynne chose to go into the computer business when it was a very new field. She had an interesting and successful career and that was what brought her to Canada in 1980. She didn't intend to immigrate, but loved Toronto and stayed.

After many years with the Bank of Nova Scotia, she helped launch Junior Undiscovered Math Prodigies (JUMP), a non-profit math teaching organization as the Executive Director.

Lived life to the fullest is a cliché, but appropriate. A Celebration of Life will be organized for July.

Donations to a grass roots charity of your choice in Lynne’s memory are appreciated (ones she cared about include the Toronto Public Library, Dying with Dignity, and everything supporting the local arts).
