Biography

Lisabeth Chandler 1971-2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Lisa after a long, courageous battle with cancer on May 31st, 2024. Lisa was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Lisa lived a life full of passion, joy, and a strong commitment to her family and loved ones.

Lisa was born in Trenton, Ontario on March 6th, 1971, into a military family. She was the beloved oldest daughter of Ken & Shan Chandler. She lived in several cities across Canada and in England during her youth, which was the start of her lifelong love of travel.

Lisa was a devoted mother to her two beloved daughters, Paige and Kennedy, who share her kindness and strength. She cherished every moment spent with them and her children will forever carry her in their hearts and memories.

Lisa was a loving and devoted wife to Chris Soanes, whom she was with for 27 years and married to for almost 25 years. Their love was strong and enduring.

Lisa was passionate about her career in real estate development. She spent over 20 successful years at Oxford Properties Group, finishing as their Senior Vice President & Head of Development for Canada. Always the high-achieving student, she attained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Urban Planning from Western University, and an MBA from the University of Glasgow.

Lisa was an amazing older sibling to her sisters, Kristine and Megan. The three of them had countless adventures and misadventures together. Similarily, Lisa was a loyal and loving friend to many. She was exceptionally kind, thoughtful, and giving, and many of her friendships have spanned decades.

Although cancer interrupted Lisa's life, she faced her diagnosis and treatment with strength, courage, and incredible grace. She fought hard to remain in the lives of those who love her for as long as possible.

Lisa is survived by her loving daughters, Paige and Kennedy; her husband, Chris; her mother, Shan; her sisters Kristine Chandler and Megan Sheppard (Chandler); her nieces and nephews Anya, Ava, Lauren S, Ian, Andrew, Billy, Christopher, Mackenzie, Lauren P, and Logan. Sisters-in-law Wendy and Brooke, and brothers-in-law Mark, John, and Brian. The love and memories she leaves behind will forever be in our hearts, and her legacy will live on in all those who were lucky enough to know her.

As we say goodbye to Lisa, we know her memory will live on through the lives she touched and the love she shared.

Rest in peace, Lisa. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
