IVAN ROY MATTINSON, Lawrencetown, NS, age 69, passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 5, 2024, at the QEII Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born in Pugwash on December 17, 1954, he was the eldest child of the late Roy Mattinson and Irene Weatherbey (Debert).

Ivan was proud to have worked for 24 years with Irving Oil until his retirement in 2019. Previously, he had worked for 15 years with Dineen Construction.

He is survived by his best friend and loving Wife of 44 years, Marcia; Mother Irene Weatherbey, Debert; Step-mother Helen Mattinson, Pugwash; Son John (Sabrina), near Gagetown; Brothers, Billy Mattinson, Pugwash; Ronnie (Mary Anne) Mattinson, Pugwash; Thai (Thuy) Lam, Moncton; Sisters, Carol (Eric) Dotten, Lantz; Kelly (Steven) Parker, Pugwash; Jeannie (Walter) Allen, Collingwood; Bonnie (Jeff) Parker, Pugwash; Brenda (Mike) Walker, Upper Nappan; Adored Grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Dartmouth, and Jarred, Edmonton; Special furbabies, Libby, Sandy and Patches.

Ivan was predeceased by his Father Roy Mattinson, Step-father, Joe Fredericks; Grandparents Ivan and Elsie Forshner, Charles and Ivy Mattinson; In-Laws Elsie and Tom King.

Ivan had a special kindness and compassion that will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He loved the Lord Jesus and we are sure he has been given a seat right next to him.

Cremation has taken place. Private burial will be held at a later date.
