Ida passed away peacefully at home on September 5th 2023. She had her son and daughter by her side reminding her how much she means to them and how lucky they are to have had her as their mother. Cancer may have robbed her family of many great years shared with her in this life on earth, but it is no match for the legacy of love that she leaves behind her that will also light her path forward eternally.
Behind her soft nature, huge heart, and extremely positive spirit stood a stubborn, brave and resilient woman who loved her family fiercely and who persevered through life's obstacles. She quietly embodied the true meaning of inner strength and bravery.
She lived a simple life, content with whatever she had and, above all else, she cherished a good laugh and fun moments shared with the people she loved. Her big heart extended well beyond her own family. As a caregiver for many years, families found in her a rare and trustworthy addition to their lives.
She is now free to watch over her loved ones and in particular her 4 grandchildren who brought her an immeasurable sense of pride and joy. Her presence and her laughter will be missed by family and friends alike. Her absence in our lives is palpable but we know that she is forever with us.
A celebration of life will be planned in Quebec, close to her family, with details to be determined and shared in due time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinsky Cancer Center or Cancer Research is suggested.
Hug your loved ones often and remember to savor every fleeting moment life offers us.
