After courageously contending with health challenges over the last three years, Eric Nichols passed away suddenly on January 10th.

Eric was born in Oshawa Ontario on February 19th, 1950. He was welcomed by his parents Norman and Hilma and for the most part, his older brothers Alan and Brian :-)

After graduating from O'Neill Collegiate, he went on to earn degrees at both Lakehead University and the University of Windsor. Entering the business world, Eric became a Chartered Professional Accountant and found his calling in local government, eventually assuming the role of Treasurer for the Borough of East York. His last career step was that of Executive Director for a municipal insurance reciprocal.

Eric retired in 2005 to concentrate on golfing, his workshop, the stock market and participating in his wife's consulting business.

A more than supportive husband, Eric loved his wife Maureen and leaves her to carry on for the team. Faithful dog Lennie continues to search the house for his pal. As well, he will be missed by his Oshawa family, former wife Michelle, daughter Kelly and grandchildren.

Eric will be remembered for his quick wit and mischievous outlook on life. He also was known to PO those around him, only to charm his way back into good graces. Never one to miss a good laugh over a beer, Eric enjoyed Goderich, his home in Florida - and many friends in both locations - to the fullest. His departure is followed by many happy memories. He was a rather unique human.
