Edward Murphy

May 16th 1951 — Nov 17th 2023 (72 years)

Biography

In May of 1951, Edward Murphy, affectionately known as Eddie, entered the world as the child of Edgar and Gladys Murphy. Amongst a vibrant group of siblings - John, Kathy, Mary, Helen, Bill, Ann, Rita, and Jim - Eddie's early years were woven with the lively tales of a close-knit family in a small town outside of Ottawa. The Murphy name became synonymous with both mischief and unwavering family values in their community.

In 1971, Eddie embarked on a lifelong adventure with the love of his life, Nancy, exchanging vows that would span 52 years until this very month. Together, they explored the world, leaving an indelible mark on each other's hearts.

Ed and Nancy's union blessed them with two children, Ryan and Shannon. Through the marriages of their children, Ed welcomed Rebeckah and Lucas into the family. The crowning joy of his later years arrived with the birth of his first and only grandchild, Kennedy, who became the cherished apple of his eye. Ed's love and pride for his children knew no bounds.

A devoted husband and father, Ed stood as a pillar in every community he touched, a go-to figure for valuable advice. His generosity, though vast, often went unnoticed, a testament to his humble nature when it came to helping others. With Ed's passing, a piece of our collective heart has departed, leaving a void that echoes with the absence of his warmth and wisdom.
