It is with much sadness that our family announces that Earl Melcher has passed away in his 93rd year. He was a good man; kind, generous, caring and the provider of the best hugs ever.

Earl was the loving husband of Viola for 63 wonderful years. He was a wonderful father to Nancy (Richard), Heather (Paul) and Brenda (pre-deceased). He was a very proud Papa to Hannah, Morgan and Matthew.

Earl grew up in Rankin Ontario with his parents Henry and Ethel, his brother Gerald and sister Emgard. He married Viola in 1960 and they settled in Sudbury, where Earl worked for Inco for over 40 years. After Inco, he kept busy with a successful handyman business. In retirement, Earl and Viola travelled and enjoyed many trips together. They loved being outdoors, walking, cycling and cross-country skiing. They were beautiful ballroom dancers. Earl was also an avid gardener, talented woodworker, and a fan of classical music and opera. Earl was happiest surrounded by family. Earl and Viola moved to Mississauga 20 years ago and loved being part of their daughters’ and grandchildrens’ lives.

Earl will be in our hearts and memories forever.
