It is with sad and broken hearts we announce the death of David Gordon Trites. He died March 12th, 2024 at Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe, ON, in the arms of his Mother, Janet and sister, Lynda. He was the son of Janet Trites and the late Peter Trites.
Dave was a blue collar hard working man with the intellect of a genius. He was a proud man, who was very stubborn, tough as nails, but always loved a laugh, jokes and pranks. The stories …the stories… he worked hard, played hard, fought hard and lived free. His way. He was a Boilermaker Brother, a Union man to the core. He was a proud Ottawa Senators fan. Dave was known for his kindness and generosity. If anyone needed anything he would be there. He was adopted by many families as he was so much more than a friend. Dave had a love for music. He played his guitar and sang around many a kitchen or camp fires. We will forever miss staying up late to play cards or dice which usually ended with him winning.  Thank you for always supporting Riley’s dreams and being her biggest fishing and hunting supporter. Thank you for being the big bad uncle to protecting us kiddos (nieces), kicking our arse to keep us in line, and offering a big bear hug when we needed your comfort.

Beside his Mother Janet, David is survived by his sister Lynda (Corrado  Vezzaro), nephew Kyle Vezzaro, neice Ryanna (Sean), neice Riley (Devin), neice Tyanna (Moe), his Great nephews and nieces Jude, Rory, Isla, and Mila, Uncles Bernard Chisholm , Harold (Brenda), Aunts Jean Thompson, Joan Rankin, Barbara Fraser (Gary), Eileen Chisolm and several cousins. Special intentions go out to his adoptive MacKay family, Willy, Gloria, Carly and Cheryl, and late Brandin. He was predeceased by his Grandparents Gordon and Thelma Trites and Daniel and Florence Chisholm, as well as Uncles Paul and John Trites, Donnie, Joe, Billy, Charlie, John Chisholm and Aunts Judy MAc Leod, Rose Kelly, Bernadette Tobin, and Mary Hamilton.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Army Navy Club in Simcoe, ON March 30th 2024 from 6:30PM-11:00PM. Cremation has taken place. A private burial will take place at a later date in Waterside, NS.
