It is with heavy hearts that on September 15, 2023 our beloved husband, father, grandfather “Papa” Bruce Matthew Candrlic (Halifax, Nova Scotia) passed away at the age of 73.

Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Stella who was the love of his life and his two children Trevor Candrlic (Selena) and Jennifer Brien (Mike). Papa will be forever loved and missed by his five grandchildren, Matthew, Ethan, Justin, Amy and Ella and many other relatives and friends.

He is predeceased by his father Matthew “Mattie” Candrlic, his mother Alma Candrlic and sister Donna (Candrlic) Gillis.

Bruce grew up in Whitney Pier, Cape Breton and was loved by all who knew him. He was a kind and gentle soul, always willing to lend a helping hand at the drop of a hat. Bruce loved spending time with his family, and was content when on the snooker table, golf course and watching formula one or baseball. He was an exceptionally skilled woodworker and loved spending time in his workshop making beautiful and unique pieces for his family and friends.

Bruce was also loved and well-respected by his co-workers. He had a passion for people, was a natural leader, and made many friends during his over 20 years at Tip Top Tailors where he worked his way up the ranks to Regional Manager. He spent the latter part of his career at Mark’s Work Warehouse before he decided to retire and travel with his beautiful wife and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Bruce Candrlic’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Nova Scotia SPCA.
