Andrew Frederic Cabana, (62) of Ottawa, Ontario passed away on Wednesday June 7th, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Andrew, fondly known as Andy, was born to Aline Priscilla St. Jean and Fernand Cabana, on June 11, 1960 in Ottawa, Ontario. Andy was a hardworking young father when he worked at Birks Fine Jewellers and then Grand & Toy. In 1992, Andy suffered an accident leaving him a quadriplegic, he then focused on raising his 3 young children alongside his wife, and watching the Ottawa Senators take to the ice.

Andy is survived by his wife Sharon and three children, Angela (Jesse), Adam (Kelly) and Justin, as well as his grandchild Archer. He is also survived by his brothers Bob (Helene), Michael (Francine), and Donald (Kym), along with many brother & sister in laws, nephews and nieces. Andy was predeceased by his mother Aline who raised her four strong sons, and son Cory.

Andre fought hard throughout the years. Despite spending much of that time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his entire journey, he cracked jokes with his grown children, made silly faces with his grandchild Archer, and even pulled some light-hearted pranks on the nurses. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed.

Andy’s family will host a funeral service on Friday June 23, 2023 at 12pm. The service will be at St. John The Apostle Church in Ottawa. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to ParaSport Ontario in Andy’s name.
